Here it is! I’m a little bit excited to share my write up by The Darkhorse Jewellery! Written by Emma Frisina we talk everything style, fashion and of course, Jewellery on their blog.

Jessica-Rosaria Campbell gives us insight into her life in fashion and design, as well as her blog The Overdressed Voguette.

“I’m incredibly lucky to be submerged in such a rich design and style orientated lifestyle” – and submerged is definitely the word for it! This busy working girl is a dual agency represented model, Fashion Designer at her label RARE studios, Creative Content Stylist and Fashion Blogger at The Overdressed Voguette and an Interior Designer at two Architectual Firms. However much this sounds, Campbell wouldn’t trade it for anything; being surrounded by such like-minded creatives is what constantly inspires her.

We asked Campbell what inspired her to start The Overdressed Voguette and, of course, her answer was for love for all things Fashion and Style. Having a clear vision when it came to the concept of “style” from a young age, Campbell is extremely in love with the style that she has surrounded her life with, along with her mantra “clean dressing, clean eating, clean living”. The Overdressed Voguette reflects this, striving to speak a distinct language that emphasises fashion does not always equal style and it is little luxuries that inspire and create that concept of style. As blogging was always her source for inspiration, the tables have now turned for Campbell and it has fallen into her hands to inspire others with her style.

Coming from a Sicilian background, Campbell’s relationship with Italian culture, as well as her love of design, art and music, has driven her passion for embracing the beautiful things in life, appreciating the culture’s creative history, historical values, strong family values, and beauty. She uses this standpoint as her passion for creating beautiful things in her own life and for others through her label and blog for the modern day voguette.

Campbell describes her style as monochromatic, clean cut, and luxurious, wearing mostly Black, White, Leather and Gold. Starting with simple shapes and basics, Campbell focuses on stand out designer pieces like bags, shoes and jewellery to make an outfit pop. Rarely caught in anything but heels and never following seasonal trends, Campbell emphasises her confidence in her style and what she stands for. “My signature aesthetic is definitely encapsulated in my designs for RARE studios (my label which is launching later this year) as a luxe label of masterfully constructed yet wearable leather pieces with clean lines, minimalistic shape and a fresh monochromatic palette”. To Campbell, there is nothing more stylish than Black and White and nothing more luxurious than knowing how to wear it.

Some favourite designers of Campbell’s include Dion Lee, Alexander Wang (both at his namesake label and at Balenciaga), J. W. Anderson, Riccardo Tisci at Givenchy and Sass & Bide. Barely making it to shops with such a busy lifestyle, Campbell gets her fashion fix by an extreme online shopping addiction!

As well as being a lover of fashion and style, Campbell is also a huge beauty lover, her make up reflecting her monochromatic style; a defined brow, nude eyes and a bold lip. Her favourite beauty products right now are: Chanel Bronzer in 03 Brume D’Or, Gucci Flora Perfume in Gorgeous Gardenia, Grown Alchemist Lip Balm in Watermelon and Vanilla, and Chanel Body Lotion in Coco Noir. “I’d be so lost with out my Clinique Number 3 Toner. It always goes on before makeup in the morning and when my makeup comes off in the evening – definitely my secret weapon. It’s the first thing I pack when heading to a photo shoot or show”. As a model, health and wellbeing are a must for Campbell, looking after herself not only through beauty regimes but also by drinking a lot of green tea and water.

When asked what is the one thing you can’t live without, Campbell responds “You’d never be able to get just one thing out of me as an answer for that! So I’ll have to say my partner Joshua, my inspiration sources and chocolate. But if you really did want just one thing then the answer would be love, it really does rule the world”. Spending her days blogging, designing and sourcing inspiration, Campbell is constantly seeking new ways to keep the fire burning. Following style icons such as Christine Centenera and Kayne West, keeping up a unique signature style is a must.

When it comes to accessorising, Campbell suggests keeping it simple. Go for statement pieces such as jewellery, shoes and bags. She also confesses to her obsession and having a collection of designer bralettes, always on the hunt for collectors pieces on Ebay! She recommends not to drown out your statement pieces and appreciate the true beauty they possess.

So what’s Campbell’s go-to jewellery piece? To her, there are no limitations! “I have a few staples, which are my Hermes Collier de Chien Cuff, my Mimco Sportivo Watch and Snake Charmer Ring and my Amber Sceats Celeste Headpiece. At the moment my latest go-to is the new Rose Gold ID Necklace by Peter Lang from TDHJ, I like that it’s such a statement piece – the choker length is perfect”.

If you’re starting out in the blogging world, Campbell advises “Know your style, you don’t find it by stealing others. I think defining your own personal style is definitely an evolution and timely journey, so when you find it, stick to it, build on it and stay real. The greatest influencers are the ones whose style is so unashamedly confident and identifiable, so be original it shines so much brighter”. As Campbell would’ve said to her younger self, Don’t wait! Just have a go and bite that bullet right now!

Campbell is a fantastic example that persistence, perseverance and passion goes a long way. She couldn’t have asked for a better response from the Fashion & Design industry to both RARE studios and The Overdressed Voguette and is very excited to continue to take leaps and bounds, as she knows there is always a way to do bigger and better things. Her thoughts on jewellery in 2014? “As much as I love a great statement piece, I think simple fine jewellery is on the rise, especially in the form of delicate layering and stacking. I only do Gold’s; you won’t catch me in anything Silver so my hunt for the perfect girly layering pieces has begun!”
